Most of the members of the Stephaneum Ltd. are also members of our San Francisco and San Jose Branches. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Üveges of our No. 197 Springdale Branch donated an Eagle Decanter and Planter Stand for raffle. The members donated $1.00 for a ticket. After the raffle from the proceeds $60.00 was mailed for the Student Aid and Loan Fund in memory of the late Mr. Paul St. Miklossy, Treasurer, and $34.00 was sent toward the church remodeling fund of the Bethlen Home. The Hungarian Festival will be held on Septem­ber 10 in the Garden State Arts Center. The plaza festivities start at 11:00 A.M. The formal stage pro­gram begins at 4:00 P.M. The attendance last year was 7000. The HRFA will have its specially prepared exhibit. Rev. Imre Bertalan and Mr. George Dózsa Board members are General Chairman and Refresh­ment Chairman and Priscilla Hunyady, an officer of our Linden Branch is the Ticket Chairman. Rev. Alexander Marton died on April 12. He was horn in 1891 in Hungary. Graduated from the Theo­logical Seminary in Debrecen. Served the Nagykalo, Debrecen and Csepel congregations. Entered the U.S. in 1927. Was pastor of the New York-Cliffside, Detroit-Windsor (Canada), Donora and Youngstown congregations. Married Jolán Dudás with whom he lived for 43 years. He was survived by his wife and two children. He was a dedicated manager of our Youngstown branch. Was an award winner in the 1939 membership contest. At the funeral held in Youngstown Bishop Dezső Abraham, Vice-President represented the HRFA, Bishop Louis Nagy the Beth­len Home. Rev. Victor Bodnar’s funeral service was held on May 14 in Bethlehem, Pa. He was born in 1909 at Abaujvar, Hungary. Graduated from Bloomfield Theological Seminary. Was pastor of the Yonkers, Brownsville (33 years) and Bethlehem congregations. At the funeral service Rev. Imre Bertalan repre­sented the HRFA and Bishop Louis Nagy the Beth­len Home. He was a faithful supporter of the HRFA and the Bethlen Home. He was survived by his wife, Helen. Mr. Alexander Kayatin was born in 1906 in California, Pa. He was taken to Hungary by his mother and was raised in the Village of Kis Rat, Ung county, Hungary. He returned to the U.S. in 1925 and settled in Daisytown, Pa. He was a dedi­cated layleader in the Daisytown Hungarian Presby­terian Church. He was a coal miner for 44 years and the coal dust settled in his lung. He died unex­pectedly on March 21. He was survived by his wife Helen Suich Kayatin with whom he lived for 46 years and his two daughters: Regina and Barbara who with their families reside in Lorain, Ohio. Mr. Kayatin was the manager of our Richeyville branclr No. 226 for 33 years. As a result of his good relation­ship with other fellow coal miners, he enlarged the branch membership by his promotional work among other ethnics.
