From the Office of the Secretary Our first district meeting was held on February 8th, in the new fellowship hall of the Woodbridge, New Jersey Hungarian Reformed Church. The Federation gave the mortgage to the church enabling the congregation to build the hall and the classrooms for Christian education. The Ladies Society members prepared and served a delicious lunch and supper. It was a well attended meeting. Reverend Leslie Egry, the local pastor opened the meeting with prayer. The Secretary introduced Rev. Imre Bertalan and Mr. Joseph Molnár, Board of Directors; Frank A. Dance, Joseph Gyenes, William Puskas, Albert St. Miklossy and Dr. Antal Viczian, Section Managers; Frank Antal, Mrs. Ida Bankó, Eugene Baranyai, Frank Dem- jen, Andrew Dobroweczky, Mrs. Elizabeth Honfi, Rev. László Hunyady, Geza Megyessi, Mrs. Helen Putnoky, Geza Sanislo, John Szabó; Charles Toth Louis Yager and George Dózsa Branch Managers; Imre Bogár, Stephen György and Charles Kovács, agents. The closing prayer was said by Rev. Francis Yitez, editor of the Reformátusok Lapja. Our second meeting was held on March 1st in the meeting room of the Cleveland First Hungarian Reformed Church. Mrs. Stephen Balogh with her helpers: Elizabeth Livak, Mrs. Albert Salem and Anna Kara prepared and served very delicious lunch and supper in the Bethlen Hall. It was also a very well attended meeting. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Szabó, local pastor, opened the meeting with prayer. The Secretary introduced William Aros, Dr. Stephen Szabó, Elmer Vargo, and Gazéi Veszprémi members of our Board of Directors; Joseph Arnosky, Mrs. Emma Aros, Joseph Bakty, Dr. Tibor Halo, Dr. Arthur A. Ludwig, László Kernes, Mrs. Emma Oris, John Szabó and Dr. Daniel Vizsolyi, District and Section Managers; Mrs. Jolán Abel, Albert Bacho, John Bodo, Mrs. Eleanor Kopp, Edward Kosta, Tibor Lukacs, Ernest Sala and Sándor Szabadkai, Branch Managers. The program at both district meetings were the same. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky, president of the HRFA gave a general summary of the growth, fraternal and charitable activities of the Federation during the calendar year of 1974. He emphasized especially the increase in the amount of insurance in Field Force meeting of the Ohio District held in Cleveland, Ohio on March 1, 1975. force and the assets of the Federation. The Federation was very generous in its subsidy of the youth camps, youth activities, grants given as student aid. The student loan project was voted by the Board of Directors. A fund was set aside to be used on a revolving basis. A new wing was planned by László Bojtos, an architect in Cleveland and built adjacent to the nursing home building. It will he ready for inspection by the Pennsylvania welfare department by March 15th and for occupancy immediately thereafter. 1976 will be a convention year and the 80th anniversary of the Federation. The Board of Directors will vote for plans to celebrate the anniversary throughout the United States. The President was pleased with the attendance of both district meetings and he praised all present for their interest and dedication to the Federation. Mr. Paul St. Miklossy, treasurer reported that the Federation’s assets exceeded the amount of $18 million dollars. Our ratio of net interest income to the means of assets also increased. The Federation’s ratio of net interest income is above the average of the other fraternal organizations. This pattern and trend of increase continued during the past years. It is an indication that the Federation not only met the solvency standard requested by the State insurance departments but during the past years have steadily went over and above the minimum requirement. The solvency ratio of the Federation in 1974 was 113.63%. Mr. László L. Eszenyi, Controller gave a condensed report on the standing of the Federation as of December 31, 1974. He pointed out that the increase in our insurance in force and in the assets were impressive. He also gave very interesting and detailed figures of the Federation in the auditing and controlling areas. Many questions were asked about the 17
