From the Office of the Secretary On September 8th President Beky preached the Hungarian and the Secretary the English sermon at the dedication service of the Woodbridge new educational building and fellowshiphall built adjacent to the sanctuary. The Secretary as toastmaster called Dr. Zoltán Beky to be the first speaker at the dedication banquet. Bishop Beky in his speech pointed out that the HRFA gave a helping hand to the congregation in the building project bv granting a mortgage loan. On September 14th the four National Officers attended the New Jersey State Hungarian Festival. The HRFA displayed an artistic exhibit. The afternoon program was conducted by Rev. Imre Bertalan, Board of Director, as Master of Ceremony. All our New Jersey Section Managers and most of our Branch Managers were present. Mr. Alexander Hody, Section Manager and his wife sang in the choir. President Beky and the Secretary on their way to the National Fraternal Congress in Las Vegas held on September 22-25, preached at the 60th anniversary worship service of the Cleveland Hungarian Presbyterian Church and were main speakers at the 50th anniversary banquet of Reverend Stephen Csutoros and Reverend Julius Kiss, founding pastor. They also visited Mr. Albert Oris, former Section Manager, in his Painesville home. It was a pleasure to meet our ailing fellow worker in brotherly and fraternal spirit and wish him recovery. President Beky opened the Presidents Section Meeting with prayer. During the morning anad afternoon plenary sessions nationally famous speakers lectured on highly technical fraternal insurance topics and projects. During the question-answer period President Beky and the Secretary made constructive comments. We presented the revised texts of our certificates and riders in their final forms for the approval of our new insurance plans. We are certain of their approval during the month of December. On September 29th our Washington Branch No. 300 had a large representation at the Grape Festival sponsored by the Washington Chapter of the American Hungarian Federation. Bishop Zoltán Beky, our President opens the Presidential Session of the Congress with a prayer. The New Jersey State Fraternal Congress held its annual meeting on October 17 and 18. President Beky opened the meeting with prayer and the Treasurer extended the greetings as past president of the Maryland Fraternal Congress. The Secretary represented the HRFA at the Pennsylvania State Fraternal Congress held on November 17-19 in Pittsburgh. It was a very important meeting because the new Insurance Commissioner’s three staff members held three workshops with the delegates to open new channels of communication through a series of dialogues with the fraternal organizations. The Commissioner was the main speaker at the opening banquet. In his speech he made a witnessing of the wonderful fraternal and charitable work done through the past 100 years bv the fraterHon.
