Rt. Rev. Árpád George: From the Office of the Secretary Mrs. Malvin Yesso is the manager of our Conneaut, Ohio branch. We were sorry to read about the sudden and unexpected death of her beloved husband. Mr. Jolin Yesso was only 58 years old when the Lord separated him from his earthly beloved ones. He was a 2nd generation member of our Federation, chief-elder of the Conneaut Reformed Church. He graduated from Kent State University and received his Master’s degree from Western Reserve University. He was the superintendent of the Conneaut schools. He loved his family, profession, church and the Federation. He is survived by his wife, two children and sister. May his memory be blessed.----------o—-— On January 11th and 12th we held our Board of Directors and Field Force meetings in Ligonier, Pa. Mr. Samuel Urda, actuary, expounded our new insurance plans based on the Commissioner’s 1958 Standard Mortality Table. Constructive contributions were made by the comments and remarks of the Board and Field Force members. The new plans will he presented to the State Insurance Departments of our operation for final approval. A new compensation system for our Field Force was also presented by Mr. Urda. The Board decided to further study the new system at its regular March meeting and passed a resolution that the Field Force in 1973 be paid on the basis of the 1972 compensation system. The Board received the presentation of the Bethlen Home’s Building Committee with interest and enthusiasm. It requested further detailed information and specifics on the Building Plan. The Board felt that further reevaluation was needed on the matter before it could make a final decision at the next regular Board meeting. It was a great pleasure to hear the testimonies and witnessings of the great success of our Vice-President’s 25th anniversary pastoral service in Cleveland, particularly from Mr. Stephen Syposs, Vice- President from the East and Mr. Charles Modory, Board member from the West. May I encourage our branch managers and branch officers to hold their annual and monthly branch meetings in the early part of the year. According to our By-Laws the quorum for the annual or a special meeting is one-twentieth of the branch members. “If a quorum is not present at the first meeting, a second meeting shall be called at which those present regardless of number shall constitute a quorum.” For the monthly meetings the quorum is five members. The secretaries or branch managers must mail a copy of the minutes of their meetings to the Secretary. Failure to comply with this request might result in a change of branch status. The annual meeting of branch 300 will be held on April 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Home Office. It would be more economical and we would save much time and mailing expense if the branch managers would let me know the dates and places of their respective meetings and I would publicize them in our official paper as an official notice. Our Cleveland 2, 4 and 297 Branches will hold a fraternal card party on April 1st, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Fellowship Hall of our branch building. Our first district meeting was held on February 18th in New York in the meeting room of the 82nd Street Hungarian Reformed Church. The lady members of our local New York branches served us excellent food for lunch and dinner. Reverend Gabor Csordás, member of our branch 139 acted as host and assured us genuine Hungarian hospitality. Many members worlst row (seated) left to right: Rev. Imre Bertalan Director, László L.
