Katalin Paschke, secretary and claim adjuster; Dr. Zoltán Korossy, machine operator and statistician; Mr. Gyula László, head bookkeeper; Mrs. Katalin Galanthai-Nagy, assistant claim adjuster and bookkeeper; Mrs. Vilma Csorba, Miss Elizabeth Nagy and Mrs. Adrienne Vegh, bookkeepers rendered excellent services to the Federation and are worthy of the recognition of the Convention. I express my sincere appreciation to our advisers for their expert support during the last term. I will very much miss the guidance and warm friendship of Dr. Frank S. Horvath, Medical Director whose resignation is a great loss to the Federation. I gratefully acknowledge the cooperation of my fellow-officers, field and branch managers. I thank you Gentlemen, who served on the Board, for your understanding, concern and fellowship I was happy to enjoy during the past years. ESZENYI Controller FEDERATION HONORS WAR DEAD Members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America met in Ligonier last week for a convention at the Bethlen Home here. During their activities they held a memorial service on the Ligonier Diamond in honor of their war dead. A floral tribute was placed at the monument in the Diamond honoring those who have given their lives in conflict in American wars. This picture and article appeared in the LIGONIER ECHO. FEDERATION OKs PLANS FOR HOME LIGONIER — The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America has approved plans for the construction of the Bethlen Home for the Aged IT in Ligonier Township near the site of the existing Bethlen Home for the Aged. The new facility will have from 50 to 100 beds. The federation’s board of directors was given the authority to work with the architect in determining the size of the home and to make the necessary financial and legal arrangements. A starting date for construction was not set. The federation reelected the following officers to four-year terms: Bishop Zoltán Béky, president; László Eszenyi, controller; the Rev. Arpad George, secretary; and Paul St. Miklossy, treasurer, all of Washington, D. C. The convention also drafted declarations calling for unity and cooperation among Hungarians residing in the United States and expressing encouragement to the residents of Hungary. Th's article appeared in the Johnstown Tribune Review newspaper. AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP James J. Kovács, son of Mrs. Rose Kovács, manager of our Branch No. 15 was graduated with high honors from Slippery Rock State College and was awarded a $2,200 scholarship to continue his studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He is planning to study for his Master of Education Degree in Special Education and then continue toward a Doctors Degree. James Kovács has been a member of our Federation since his birth. We congratulate him on this honor conferred upon liim and hope that he will achieve an outstanding JAMES J. KOVÁCS career in the field of Special Education. 27
