Fraternity-Testvériség, 1972 (50. évfolyam, 1-12. szám)

1972-01-01 / 1-3. szám

Periodically we hold our annual Field Force meetings in our Washington Home Office. We do this, because we want our Field Force members to get acquainted with the staff of our Home Office; learn how the applications are processed in the Secretary’s Department and get first hand information how the claims and monthly reports are handled by the Controller’s Department. We show them all the forms we have in the Underwriting and Claim Departments and give them proper instruction how to fill the forms out and where to send them in order to get the most efficient service and quickest response for each and every case from the Home Office. At the same time, we strengthen the ties of fellowship and practice the spirit of fraternalism in its truest sense. The Field Force meeting was opened by the prayer of the Reverend Dr. Arthur Ludwig who thanked God for blessing President Beky with recovery from his illness. President Beky extended the official greetings and welcome to the Field Force members attending the meeting. He was sorry to notice the absence of the Reverend Paul Ferenczy, District Manager, who asked to he excused from attending the meeting because his wife needed hospital care. President Beky thanked God for the opportunity of meeting with the Field Force. He emphasized the importance of the image of the Federation. He claimed that the image of the Federation before our members and all the Hungarians is what we, the National Officers and Field Force members, make it. Reviewing the past 75 years history of the Federation, he stated that the Lord blessed the Federation with God-fearing and dedicated officers and workers in the past and that it is his hope that the present officers and workers will live up to the high standards maintained by our predecessors. The Federation still operates as a Hungarian organization with a Christian religious background. The Federation is our precious treasure and in the 1972 Convention year we should do our utmost in promotional work. Mr. Paul St. Miklossy, Treasurer, reported that the Federation grew in assets almost half a million dollars in 1971. It also had an increase in dues income over the previous year. These factors are healthy signs of financial growth. Mr. László Eszenyi, Controller, reported that as in most of the smaller fraternal organizations membership and the number of certificates held decreased but the insurance in force increased by close to $400,000.00. He expressed his high hopes that the year-end closing will show a sizeable increase in our dues income which will push upwards the limitations of expenses again. Controller Eszenyi praised the excellent work of most of the branch managers. As a result of their dedicated work, the Federation overcoUects assessments every year and the membership receives outstanding insurance and fraternal services. Secretary George made a comparison of the production of the past four years. The 1971 gross production was the second best of the past four year period. However, the net production suffered from the unexpected large amounts of lapses, cash surrenders, maturities, and death claims. In spite of these bitter experiences caused by the economic recession and act of God, our Federation managed to end the year of 1971 with a substantial increase in the amount of our insurance in force and annual dues income. The Secretary praised and commended the following Field Force members for over-production: Dr. Arthur Ludwig (124%), Mrs. Emma Oris (111%), Joseph Molnár, Jr. (107%), Dr. Tibor Halo (106%), Dr. Tibor Köss and Dr. Antal Viczian (102%). The Field Force members accepted their 1972 quotas subject to the final approval of the Board of Directors and the new contract drafted by our Legal Counsellor will also be presented to our next Board of Directors meeting for final approval. The meeting ended with the benediction of President Beky. Arpad George, Secretary The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America ivishes a happy and blessed Easter to all its Members and Friends The National Officers. 15
