English Section: Rt. Rev. Árpád George: From the Office of the Secretary FIELD FORCE MEETINGS I met all the District and Section Managers of the Federation in 1971. It was the year of our 75th anniversary celebration. Banquets were held throughout the United States in practically all the States we operate. The 75th anniversary celebrations served the promotional goals of the Federation. I thank the local committee members for their hard and dedicated work which were instrumental in making our gatherings a success. In January, it was a pleasure to meet the Reverend John Paul Nagy in Florida and hear his promise that if the good Lord will help him through his second leg operation, he will spend more time to promote the work of the Federation. In California it was a distinguished pleasure to meet in November my fellow workers in the greater Los Angeles and San Francisco areas and hear their most solemn and sincere pledge that they will wholeheartedly work for the welfare and benefit of the Federation during our 1972 Convention year. Our great industrial cities like Akron, Cleveland, Detroit and Pittsburgh were hit hard by the 1971 economic recession. But the hardest hit areas of unemployment were the East and West coast areas. As we give an account of our 1971 work, we thank God that our Federation, in spite of the economic recession and unemployment, went forward and made progress in assets, in the increase of annual dues income and even in the amount of insurance in force. These facts were reported by our National Officers as they presented the reports of their respective departments at our Field Force meeting held on January 12th and 13th in Washington, D. C.
