103. Richard Áros was nominated by the Committee as alternate for William Aros and Edward Molnár as alternate for Elmer Varga. There were no other nominations. The Chairman instructed the Secretary to cast a unanimous ballot for Richard Aros and Edward Molnár. 104. Thomas Halo and Gazéi Veszprémi were nominated by the Committee for the one directorial post from the Detroit District. From 65 votes counted Gazéi Veszprémi received 43, Thomas Halo 24 votes. The discrepancy between the figures was resolved by Thomas Halo conceding the election to Gazel Veszprémi. The Chairman declared Gazel Veszprémi duly elected Director for the Detroit District. 105. John Szabó (Windsor, Canada) and Joseph Bakty were nominated by the Committee for the one alternate post for the Detroit District. From 64 votes counted Joseph Bakty received 46, John Szabó 18 votes. The Chairman declared Joseph Bakty alternate for Director Gazel Veszprémi. 106. Charles Modory was nominated by the Committee for the one directorial post of the Chicago District; Rev. Desmond Parragh for his alternate. There were no other nominations. The Chairman instructed the Secretary to cast separate unanimous ballots for Charles Modory and the Rev. Desmond Parragh. 106. The newly elected Vice Presidents and Directors singularly thanked the Convention for the confidence placed in them and pledged their faithful services. 107. All newly elected Officers and Directors were sworn in by Temporary Chairman Desmond Parragh. 108. Vice President Syposs expressed the warm sentiments of the Convention to a former Board Member, Charles Kiss who was ineligible for candidacy because of his residency outside of his former District. 109. Upon motion by Delegate John Nagy and duly seconded The Convention unanimously voted to cancel its previous resolution (item 17 and 86 in these Minutes) and set the flat fee for all accredited members of the Convention at $600. 110. Kálmán Csia, Mrs. Betty Galgany, trip chairman and Mrs. Bertha Ludescher, President of the Cleveland Hungarian Ladies Charity Club. A gift of $1,000.00 is being given to Rev. Csia on September 17th with the contributions from those on the three buses as well as those friends and businessmen in the Cleveland, Ohio area. This was a joint venture by Branches Nos. 2 and 4 and the Cleveland Hungarian Ladies Charity Club. A warm welcome was extended by Rev. RECEIVED AIR MEDAL Capt. Atilla L. Kerekes, a KC135 pilot with the 41 Refueling Squadron, Griffis AFB, has been awarded the Air Medal for outstanding airmanship in successfully accomplishing important missions over Southeast Asia last winter. Capt. Atilla Kerekes is the cousin of the late Borsliy Kerekes György. 25
