CHRISTMAS PARTY AT CLEVELAND BRANCH 4 By Elmer E. Vargo, Ohio Director In the true spirit of Fraternalism, Branch 4 held their annual Christmas party on December 12th. We were delighted to have with us Rev. Arpad George, National Secretary along with the following members of the Board of Directors with their wives: Dr. Stephen Szabó, V. P., William Aros, Elmer E. The evening was filled with merriment after a delicious meal prepared under the expert leadership of Mrs. Mary Balogh, President of Branch 4. The others in her kitchen crew were Mrs. Elizabeth Livak, Vice President; Mrs. Anna Kara, Secretary; Mrs. Louis Juriasz, Mrs. John Molnár and Mrs. Albert Salem, Auditors. Enjoying the evening of fellowship was Mr. Andrew Mr. Andrew Dono, Administrative Assistant to the Mayor presenting the Key to the City of Cleveland to Rev. Arpad George, National Secretary. Dono, Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of the City of Cleveland. Mr. Dono presented the key to the city to Rev. Arpad George. Our thanks to him for this fine gesture and we extend our very best wishes as Mr. Dono is the highest ranking Hungarian in our city administration. As a member of our Federation we are also proud of him serving in such a responsible position and hope that he will continue to serve in public and community life for many more years. The evening further progressed with the introductions of all guests and the singing of Christmas Carols under the direction of Mrs. Betty Galgany. She handled this task in her usual fine manner. It is our Mrs. Galgany who has had the responsibility, along with her committee, to make the Cleveland visitations to Ligonier successful. Many of those helping her on these trips were also present and again a big thank-you for their continued support of the Bethlen Home. Santa Claus and children. Our grand finale came with the appearance of Santa Claus and the entire group singing Jingle Bells. All of the children received their gifts from Santa. The gifts were donated by the members of the Board of Directors present. On behalf of the local Directors, we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of those members who made it possible for all to enjoy such fellowship at this dinner. These affairs help to keep our Federation in the eyes of our community and we certainly look forward to them each year. May God bless those in charge and keep us together for many more years in the future. 16
