Westem Pennsylvania District meeting in Duquesne, Pa. problems of branch management were discussed. The Secretary, in comparing the 1969 gross production with 1968, pointed out an increase of $888,750, or 31%. Since emphasis was placed on quantity and quality, the amount of $1,017,354 was gained in our insurance in force. This was accomplished in spite of the total collapse of our Canadian promotional work. The United States Field Force members and Branch Managers were credited for this outstanding performance. In 1969 Mr. Imre Cegeny and Mr. Alexander Hegedűs resigned from their positions. Our Field Force was strengthened with the following new members: John Fekete, Section Manager of the Greater Toronto Metropolitan area; Daniel Laskay, Section Manager in New Brunswick; Rev. Dr. Arthur A. Ludwig, Section Manager of the Chicago district; and Rev. John Paul Nagy, District Manager of Florida. The branch statistical report reveals that the 1968 number of zero producing branches increased from 49 to 53, and the number of $5,000 or less producing branches decreased from 100 to 90. In 1968 the production of our Toronto branch was $136,000 and in 1969 Ohio District meeting in Cleveland, Ohio. the production was zero. The production of our New York City branches was $275,000, Cleveland $238,500, and New Brunswick $238,000. If the 1969 trend in production continues in 1970, New Brunswick will head the list of all the cities. At the time this article will be published, the 1969 amount we gained in our insurance in force will be surpassed. Our Bethlen Home Hungarian Summer School, Hungarian Scout and our National Youth Study Contest projects as special drives were a great help in promoting our Federation’s production. Bethlen Home and Federation Days were held in Cleveland, Miami, McKeesport and New York. Federation Fraternal Day was held in Belmar, New Jersey. Recognition and thanks were, and now again, are expressed for the National Officers, District, Section and Branch Managers, the local clergymen and their dedicated wives for sponsoring these occasions. All these affairs have strengthened the ties of fellowship and have built true fraternal and brotherly spirit among our members. In many Hungarian communities we have already organized committees which in 1971 will sponsor our 75th Diamond Anniversary celebration throughout the United States. Detroit Office.
