Yesterday - Tomorrow - TODA\ IT’S LATER THAN YOU THINK! By Elmer E. Vargo, Ohio Director Recently, I came across the following quotation, “Yesterday is a cancelled check. Tomorrow is a promissory note.” In other words — TODAY IS ALL WE REALLY HAVE ! ! ! There have been many times we have all said, “I’ll do it tomorrow.” However, when tomorrow arrives, the promises of yesterday are often left undone. The hands of time are set but once for each of us. Some are blessed with many years and others with but a few and none of us know when the hands of time will stop. All through life we are striving to provide our family with a secure future. For this reason may we request that you take a few minutes to review and analyze the following information for your own satisfaction as well as that of your loved ones. 1— Is your Will in order so that distribution of your personal and real property will be done as you desire? 2— Your life insurance certificates should be checked, making sure that all beneficiaries are living and are correctly listed. Payments are made only as shown on the certificates. 3— After reviewing your life insurance certificates and you find it to be inadequate coverage in our changing times, we are ready to serve you. Any of our representatives or branch managers will be happy to discuss with you our various types of insurance plans. By becoming a member of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America you will be part of an organization that has done much for our cultural and religious heritage in America. Our Federation, in the true spirit of Fraternalism has extended aid and assistance to many people here as well as abroad. We are especially proud of our Bethlen Home for the Aged and Dependent Children located in Ligonier, Pa. which was established in 1921. This charitable institution is known throughout the land and we invite you one and all to visit The Bethlen Home and you will be convinced that this is really something that deserves our continued support. In 1971 our Federation will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee, 75th Anniversary. We are planning to have this celebration in Cleveland, Ohio for all of our Ohio branches and we request you to watcli for the date to be announced in the coming issues of this publication. REMEMBER — We can only continue our charitable work by constantly increasing our membership. Please take the time to review all of the above and let us accomplish today that which we promised to do yesterday. TODAY IS ALL WE REALLY HAVE! ! ! ☆ ☆ CLEVELAND GROUP DONATES TO BETHLEN HOME My Elmer E. Vargo, Ohio Director In the past years we have had the pleasure of working with a group of the local women that are second to none in their support for The Bethlen Home. These ladies belong to the Jotekonycelu Noi Nagybizottsag (Cleveland Hungarian Ladies Charity Club) and Branch No. 4 of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. On Sunday, September 20, 1970 a group of 120 of their members and friends enjoyed the hospitality of our Bethlen Home. It was a first time visit for many vnd they certainly praised the work we are endeavoring to do and were well pleased to see for themselves that of which we are so proud and boast to all of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pa. This outing was under the excellent leadership of Mrs. Betty Galgany. (She has directed so many of these outings that they would not be the same without her. With such devoted members and excellent leadership it is no wonder that each event for them is successful.) Our thanks in behalf of the Bethlen Home and the Federation are extended to Mrs. Betty Galgany, Mrs. Bertha Ludescher, President of the Noi Nagybizottsag, and also to Mrs. Mary Balogh, President of Branch No. 4 along with Mrs. Elizabeth Livak, Vice President, Branch No. 4 in assisting and making collections. To the others helping we wish to extend our thanks as we would not have enough space to print all of the names. At the dinner a check for $1,150.00 was given to the Bethlen Home in behalf of the Cleveland group. (Rev. Csia graciously accepted this and he also praised them for the help they have extended over the years.) We in Cleveland are very fortunate to have ladies with such ambition, spirit, dedication, enthusiasm and good will in their hearts to give so much help to those in need. (These ladies have written their deeds into the community record book.) We can only again offer them our sincere and heartfelt thanks and appreciation for their continued support and pray that God will be gracious unto them and keep them with us for many, many more years. 20
