man and Sociology for secondary schools. I like to work with people. I am teaching Sunday School right now, — so I should have fun teaching next year. SECOND PRIZE WINNER Bodnár Gábriellé Csilla Az Egyesült Államokban születtem 1953-ban. Iskoláimat Passaicon a Szent István kathólikus elemi és a Pope Pius középiskoláiban végeztem és a Rutgers egyetem államtudományi fakultására szeretnék kerülni. Alsóbb fokú iskolai éveim alatt rendszeresen jártam hétvégi majd mindennapos magyar iskolába. Négy éves korom óta a magyar cserkészet nyújtja számomra a legszebb élményt és szórakozást. Minden közös táborozáson részt vettem, segédtiszti képesítésem van. Az utóbbi években részt vettem az “Iskola Tábornokon, ahol nem cserkészeket is tanítottunk magyarra. Nyolcán vagyunk testvérek, akik közül ketten Argentinéban a magyar angolkisasszonyok iskolájában nyertek tanítónői kiképzést. SECOND PRIZE WINNER Thomas L. Door Born July 9, 1952 in Hamilton Ontario, Canada. Educated in Canada and United States. I am currently in Foot Hill College. . . Plan to attend medical school in Stanford. THIRD PRIZE WINNER Ilona Jánosi Born on July 29, 1947 in Budapest, Hungary. Left Hungary during the Revolution. Completed high school in Gary, Ind. Received the Bachelor of Arts Degree of the School of Arts and Sciences at the Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. She had the opportunity each year to study Hungarian language and literature in Hungarian in the Uralic and Altaic Department. Her goal is to receive the Master of Fine Arts Degree, (M.F.A.) from sculpture and painting. This degree is equivalent to the Doctorate Degree earned in other fields. Anticipated date for graduation is June, 1972. THIRD PRIZE WINNER Joseph Szurcsik I was born in Hungary in 1937. I finished Technical School in Mezőtúr in 1955. In school I was doing drama and folk dance. I had left Hungary after the 1956 revolution. I came to U.S.A. in 1957. I had lived in New York state for two years. I moved to California afterwards. Here I was running under Igloi Mihály. I was a member of the 1960 Olympics team for distance running. I finished College in 1965 in San Jose with an Associate in Arts degree. I had been with the Peace Corps for two years from 1965 to 1967 in Ethiopia. I was a technical advisor, trade school teacher and soccer coach. I returned to California after my service terminated with Peace Corps. I had an automobile accident. I had a very critical servicol laminac- tomy. It had confined me to bed for over a year. I returned to school as soon as I could sit for an hour in class. I had graduated with B.A. in Industrial Arts and Education last June. I am currently working on my master program at San Jose State College.
