English Section: DR. ZOLTÁN BEKY: Speech delivered to the youth of the Calvin Synod at Camp Kanesateke It is the first time that I have the privilege to be in your fellowship. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I must assure you that it is a great joy to be in your midst. I have heard so much about you and yo,ur wonderful work as the annual youth camp of the Calvin Synod. Being with you and sharing some experiences of your camp, makes me to quote that Scripture passage: "First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you...” (Romans 1:8). But this Scripture verse goes on to say: "I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.” It is not an overstatement. In our that morality is at a low ebb. The "Christian” atheists, proclaiming the death of God, the uselessness of the Christian moral standards, endanger the very roots of our society. It is in this frame of mind, that I say again "first I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because of your faith. ..” You are our God-given hope. Your loyalty to the precious faith of our Fathers and your concern for the future of your Church gives me encouragement. And let me encourage you also with the words of Scripture: "only hold fast what you have, until I come. . .” I represent the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, the only fraternal organization, which is nationwide and also inclusive of all Hungarian Protestant church bodies and denominations in this country. It is a precious heritage of all American Hungarian Reformed people, a legacy of our fathers to us and also to you future leaders of our American Hungarian Reformed community. President Béky presents the Federation’s check to the Calvin Youth Camp’s Director Rev. Endrei and Alex Eszenyi president of the youth organization. world, in the fellowship of God’s American-Hun- garian people your faith and loyalty to the Church of our Fathers is mentioned again and again as a shining example. I heard it from my fellow ministers, who returned from this youth camp greatly refreshed and even strengthened in their faith. I heard it from parents who give thanks to God for this wonderful camp, where God’s children meet seeking the way of God and sharing in true Christian fellowship. I am also strengthened by this experience. Nowadays, we hear a lot about the challenges that face the Christian faith. It is true that we live in an era of "shaking the foundations.” Unbelief seems to prevail in our world and we hear again and again God has blessed our Hungarian Reformed Federation abundantly. It was organized seventy-two years ago by a few dedicated Hungarian Reformed laymen and ministers, it is today an organization with assets above 15 million dollars, with a membership of about 35 thousand, with headquarters in Washington, D. C, which is called Kossuth House, with our wonderful Bethlen Home: orphanage, home for the aged and press in Ligonier, Pa. Our Federation has always been ready and willing to make sacrifices for its youth! We must assure you again of this willingness to help wherever and in whatever way we can. Our last Convention, held in June voted unanimously to give $10,000 dollars 11
