jose™ kecskeméthy: INTRODUCING OUR FIELD FORCE Born in Baja, Hungary, MR. KAL­MAN KOPETTI came to this country in 1956 and settled in St. Louis, Mo. with his wife Elizabeth and their two children: Eva now 20 and László 18. Mr. Kopetti had all his education and technical training in building con­struction in the Old Country and has been a member of the Hungarian Armed Forces. He is employed in his old line of work: construction, in St. Louis and has been our Federa­tion’s manager of Branch 106 since 1959. The Kopetti family is affiliated with the West Presbyterian Church of St. Louis. Mr. Kopetti’s special interests outside of his work are carpen­try and home decorating. A native of Budapest DR. TIBOR KÖSS emigrated from Hungary, then West Germany, to the United States more than sixteen years ago, settling in California. He and his family: wife Valeria and four children, Ilona, Tibor, Judith Anne and Louis Gabriel reside at 15048 Bel Estos Drive in San Jose. Dr. Koss was educated in Debrecen, Budapest, Miskolc and Pécs, where he received his Doctor of Laws degree, employ of the State of California for the last nine years. He helped to organize the California Bay Area for our Federation, since 1956 he has been manager of our San Jose Branch and in 1964 he became section manager of Northern California Section. Having been a sports editor in Budapest and West Ger­many (during his emigré years), Dr. Koss is currently sports reporter on a number of American-Hungarian newspapers, active in the Pannonia Athletic Club and the American-Hun­garian Federation. We wish to mention also that he wrote and produced an operetta in his native city: “The Queen of Hearts” (A Szivek Királynőbe). MR. JULIUS SIMON, manager of Branch 178, has been taking care of his branch in Gary, Indiana, for the last ten years. He and his family: wife Maria and children Gerhard and Evelyn, 19 and 17 years of age re­spectively, reside at 2204 West 5th Ave. in the “Steel City.” Mr. Simon has been employed as a full-time boiler operator in the school system of Gary for seven years. A native of Nyireghaza, Hungary, he came to America with his family in the 1950’s. The church home of the Simon family is the Hungarian Reformed Church of Gary, where he is director of the choir. His special interests are singing, music and the theater. MR. JOSEPH KUN came to this country in 1913 as a youth of 19 after having served five years as a shoemaker’s apprentice in Bagamér, County Bihar, Hungary, following his elementary education in the Hungarian Reformed Pa­rochial School in his native town. He married his wife Julia in 1915. They have five sons, one daughter and twelve grand-children, eleven of whom are girls and one boy. All are residents of Barberton, Ohio. Still an active member of the Akron Reformed Church, Mr. Kun was treasurer of his congregation for more than twenty years, which event was marked by a testimonial dinner given in his honor. In 1934 he accepted the managership of Branch No. 267 and worked with dedication, integrity and vigor for 33 years as one of the most successful and faithful fraternal workers of our Federation. Because of his age he recently tendered his resignation, which was accepted with regret. It was always a joy and a privilege to work with Mr. Kun and we can but wish him a long life, continued good health and much happi­ness in his years of retirement.
