2 FRATERNITY Since it is the day of freedom in their history, we pray for Thy help that the true day of lasting freedom may come to this nation which is now subjugated by its oppressors and forces of evil. We pray for our beloved President and our Speaker. Strengthen them in these most difficult and challenging times of our history. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Editor's Note: At high noon on March 15, 1966, Dr. Zoltán Beky, the president of our Federation, offered the opening prayer at the session of the House of Representatives in Washington, D. C. The occasion commemorated the 118th anniversary of the 1848 Hungarian revolution for liberty, fraternity and equality. After Dr. Beky’s prayer, Edward J. Patten (D), Congressman of the 15th District of New Jersey, and Kenneth W. Dyal (D), Congressman from California, addressed the House, while in the Senate the significance of the Hungarian revolutions of 1848 and 1956 were observed through the eloquent addresses by Senators Jacob K. Javits (R) of New York and William Proxmire (D) of Wisconsin. Through the heart-warming recognition and observance of the two great events in the history of our Hungarian people, the day — March 15 — appeared to all those present as though it actuallly were Hungarian Freedom Day in both Houses. Congressman Edward J. Patten of New Jersey, Speaker of the House John W. McCormack, and Dr. Zoltán Beky, president of the H. R. F. A.
