HUNGARIAN REFORMED FEDERATION OF AMERICA SERMON DELIVERED MAY 1, 1966 AT THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE HUNGARIAN REFORMED FEDERATION OF AMERICA BRIDGEPORT, CONECTICUT By REV. EMIL NAGY, Pastor First United Church of Christ — Bridgeport, Conn. The custom has been used in Washington, D. C., by our Federal Government to make known all of its various agencies by the use of initials. This is probably done to eliminate the use of long names in connection with these agencies. Since the Home Office of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America is in Washington, D. C., I am going to utilize this afternoon this custom by referring to our Federation, which today observes the 70th Anniversary of its founding, by initialing it H.R.F.A. There is, however, one striking difference between our Federation and a governmental agency, and that striking difference is this, that it is not an agency of the government, but, it is an agency of the heart. The writer of the book of Proverbs a long time ago adomnished us in chapter 4, verse 23: “Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” By the simple use of acrostics, let us see what H.R.F.A. spells out to each and every one of us.
