Paul St. Miklossy, Dec. 10, 1964 Treasurer INTERESTING FACTS NEVER GIVE UP There once was a man who ran for the Legislature of his State, but was defeated; who then turned his steps toward the business field, but failed; then spent fifteen years paying up the debts of a no-good partner; who ran for Congress, and was swamped; who tried to get an appointment with the United States Land Office, but failed; who became a candidate for the U. S. Senate, and lost; who wanted to be the Vice President of the United States, only to succumb to defeat once more. But who finally became President, and whose fame will last as long as this great republic — Abraham Lincoln! IT AIN'T NECESSARILY SO Many of the things most people believe “ain’t necessarily so”. For example, most people think chop suey comes from China, but it doesn’t. It was invented in Brooklyn, N. Y., not by a Chinese, but by an Italian. Most people also think that the world-famous Italian dish, spaghetti, originated in Italy. It did not; it was brought from China to Italy by Marco Polo. And most people would think you were crazy if you said that tomatoes, bananas and pineapples are berries, but berries they are. SINCERE THANKS The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America Gentlemen: I would like to commend you on your very prompt attention in paying the death benefit on my husband’s policy. Your speedy handling of this matter helped me considerably in clearing my debts, and I sincerely appreciate your consideration. Very truly yours, Chicago, Illinois Mrs. Mary Adam
