6 FRATERNITY RECEIVES PERFORMER'S CERTIFICATE Stephen Z. Kecskemethy, son of our national Secretary and Mrs. Joseph Kecskemethy, who has completed his junior year at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, New York, was awarded his performer’s certificate in violin upon approval of the Faculty Jury before whom he auditioned for this, the highest undergraduate honor in the performing arts in the School. A few days before the Jury, Stephen was heard in a solo recital at Kilbourne Hall at the Eastman School in the following program: Sonata in A Major by Besar Franck; The Scotch Symphony by Max Bruch, and Bach’s G Minor Adagio and Fugue. The young violinist, who is president of his class, the student representative of his school on the President’s Council of the University, and past president of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, will give his first professional recital and appear as soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra during the next school year. He is a student of the nationally known violin teacher and performing artist, Millard Taylor, head of the violin department of Eastman. Stephen is a member of our Home Office Branch No. 300.
