6 FRATERNITY ophy, is the first and indispensable prerequisite of a final outcome favorable to the Western civilization. And to restore and intensify moral education on a daily basis, schools of every kind must be utilized. Of course, we do not think merely of the restoration of the daily prayer, and since, according to the highest court, such practices are in conflict with the law of the land, we do not advocate such a move at all. Even after this unfortunate decision, we still see ample possibility to use schools, parochial as well as public, as centers of such moral rearmament. We do not think so that even after the school prayer decision, premises of the public school could not be used for religious teaching. As a matter of fact, we strongly recommend to our church leaders to move into the schools. After the regular schedule is over, class rooms of our public schools are used by the most different civic groups for the most varied purposes. Would this recent Supreme Court decision mean that our ministers could not organize regular bible classes for the children in the same rooms? No, indeed not. It would be even possible to put such classes immediately following daily instruction, thus teaching of religion could become almost one of the regular subjects. It most certainly calls for the close cooperation of the parents, pupils and the ministers involved. And if there isn't or wall not be established any such education in the public schools, do not blame everything on one single court order. Let’s blame ourselves also. A community is dying where young people are not standard- bearers of its principles and ideas. We have to go a long way to change ignorance and indifference to dedication. In such a light the otherwise disturbing court ruling could be the beginning of a moral and religious renaissance.
