2 FRATERNITY The specific topics of the scholarship contest will be worked out and the winners determined by the following committee: The President and Secretary of the Federation and three experts chosen by them, who have no children participating in the contest. The contestants’ themes are to be submitted to the Secretary of the Federation before the deadline expires, which is May 31, 1965. The finalists in each district will also be given an oral examination by the committee, covering their chosen topics. THREE SCHOLARSHIP PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED: 1. A free trip to Hungary on our July 30 plane and free attendance at one of the summer sessions of a Hungarian university. In lieu of the above, the winner may receive $300 in cash. 2. A $200 cash award. 3. A $100 cash award. Each winner will receive a certificate of recognition from our Federation. In each district only one applicant can be awarded one of the three prizes. The committee’s decision is final. Young people of all our churches, as well as other interested youth, who are members of the Federation, are requested to mail their applications, along with a short biography — signifying their church membership and pastor’s name — to the Secretary of the Federation. Those interested in either of the above-mentioned group trips as passengers, please contact the Federation’s district manager living nearest them, or write directly to: Rev. Joseph Kecskemethy, Secretary The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America 3216 New Mexico Avenue, N. W. Washington, D. C. 20016 OUR SOFTBALL CHAMPIONS We are pleased to receive from John Komives, our Southwest Ohio Section Manager, the group picture of the softball team of our Columbus (Ohio) Church. This fine group of youngsters are members of our Federation and of the team which we sponsor each year. It was gratifying to learn from Mr. Komives, who is not only the athletic director of these young people, but is also the chief elder of our Columbus Church, that this group has won the Southside “Y” Junior League Softball championship with a perfect mark of 10 games won. Just as much as we like young scholars in our membership and offer them the above-mentioned scholarship awards, we also like good sportsmen, too, and for this reason, as we congratulate them for their fine achievement, we are proud to present their picture to our readers.
