FRATERNITY 7 UPON MOTION MADE BY REV. FÜRJÉSZ, THE CONVENTION EXPRESSED ITS DEEP APPRECIATION TO JUDGE FIÓK WITH A STANDING OVATION. THEN THE CONVENTION UNANIMOUSLY ACCEPTED HIS REPORT AS A WHOLE AND REFERRED IT TO THE RESPECTIVE COMMITTEE FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION. 36. The Convention heard the report of Mr. Blum, Accountant. THE CONVENTION ACCEPTED THE ACCOUNTANT’S REPORT AS A WHOLE AND REFERRED IT TO THE RESPECTIVE COM­MITTEE FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION. 37. The President read two congratulatory telegrams. One was from Mr. Stephen George Szabó, architect of the Kossuth House, who was unable to attend because of poor health. The other telegram was from Dr. Béla Márk on behalf of the American Hungarian Federation. 38. The Convention heard the reports of the three Vice Presidents on the activities of the Supreme Council during the past four years. Mr. Veszprémi and Dr. Szabó spoke in English, and Dr. Béky in Hun­garian. After the remarks of the President that all supreme officers substituted during the illness of the Secretary THE CONVENTION ACCEPTED THE REPORTS OF THE THREE VICE PRESIDENTS AS A WHOLE AND REFERRED THEM TO THE RESPECTIVE COMMITTEE. 39. The Secretary presented the recommendation of the Supreme Council concerning honorarium and travel expenses for the members of the Convention as follows: a) to pay a flat honorarium of $300 to each accredited member of the Convention; b) to pay $30 travel allow­ance per day for two days; c) to pay ten cents per mile for actual travel, also bridge and toll charges; d) to pay delegates from California first class airplane round-trip fare instead of the mileage allowance; e) that the travel vouchers be approved by the Treasurer and Controller. It was moved by Mr. Stephen Varga (Roebling) and duly seconded to amend this recommendation to the effect that the flat honorarium be $400 instead of $300. THIS AMENDED RECOMMENDATION WAS ADOPTED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF 44 to 27. 40. Upon question made by Director Matthias Daróczy, the Legal Counsellor clarified the right of Supreme Council members to vote in Convention upon matters already voted on in Supreme Council. 41. The President appointed the members of the three committees prescribed by the By-Laws as follows: THE PRESIDENT AND THE LEGAL COUNSELLORS MAY AND WILL ATTEND ALL AND ANY COMMITTEES AS NEEDED.
