4 FRATERNITY THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR THE YEARS OF 1960, 1961, 1962 AND 1963 TO THE XXVII CONVENTION OF THE HUNGARIAN REFORMED FEDERATION OF AMERICA Mr. President, Members of the Supreme Council, Fellow Officers, Delegates to the Convention: It gives me great pleasure to present my Treasurer’s Report to the Convention. Prior to my election to the office of Treasurer, I spent twenty-five years engaged in Field Work for the Federation. To transfer from this kind of work to the quite different activity and responsibility as an Officer of the Federation naturally required the making of rather substantial adjustments. Nevertheless, I looked upon this as a challenge and an interesting adventure. I am well aware that the problem of adjusting to the new position would have been more difficult had it not been for the cooperation I received in my department and from my co-workers, and if I had not prepared myself for the position. My election to this office took place four years ago. However, in accordance with the By-Laws, I took office on March 15, 1961, completing three of the four years since the last Convention. As per the By-Laws, Paragraph 45-f), whereby the Treasurer shall present a full report to the Convention, covering the four-year period, I submit my report in the following: The Treasury Department handles all assets of the Federation, including the properties, mortgages, and the purchase and sale of securities. I. — CHECKING ACCOUNT The income of the Federation is handled by a checking account in The National Bank of Washington, D. C. The bank mails monthly statements on all transactions, which correspond with the balance of the ledger of receipts and disbursements, which are kept on file in the Treasurer’s office. Together with the Controller, we publish a monthly statement of income and disbursements in our official paper, the “Fraternity”. Receipts from the branches are also published every month.
