I’ve heard a great deal about it.” Delighted with the request, the Superintendent of Bethlen Home took him on a tour of the new Home and at the conclusion of the tour asked: “Well, how do you like it?” “I’m somewhat disappointed.” “Why?” “From the amount of money Hungarians list as gifts to your institution, I expected to find the hallways paved with gold.” ★ ★ ★ LONGEVITY The Pastor orated against the sin of hatred and asked those members of his congregation who had conquered this sin to stand up. Nonagenarian Simon Bácsi — the oldest man in the county — arose. “You don’t hate anybody, Simon Bácsi?” “No, I don’t, Pastor.” “That’s wonderful! Tell us how you did it.” “Well”, squeaked old Simon Bácsi, “all them skunks who done me dirt ... all them blankety-blanks I hated”, he shouted triumphantly . . . “They’re all dead!” YOUNG MAGYAR “ADVENTURER” On June 24, Gerald Pozsgay, 16-year-old son of Zoltán and Margaret Percei Pozsgay and grandson of the late Mr. Emery Percei of Toledo and the late Mr. Emery Pozsgay of Chicago, flew to San Francisco and sailed from the Navy Base to Hawaii and Japan as part of a combined Military Cruise and Explorer High Adventure program. The U. S. S. General J. C. Breckinridge Transport docked in San Diego, California, on August 2 with 46 Explorer Scouts and leaders from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. The cruise took five weeks. Gerald is a member of Ship 5085 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and has been scouting over eight years. This group of Seascouts just contructed a 16-foot sailboat, working on it after school and during vacation periods. Gerald is a student at Lane Technical High School in Chicago and is studying civil engineering.
