FRATERNITY 3 WE ARE BUILDING At its annual meeting in March, after the Supreme Council selected the best offer from amongst those contractors, who placed their bids for the construction of our new Home Office, the Ebner Bros. Builders, Inc., a Hungarian firm, was commissioned to erect the building. The ground breaking ceremonies took place on March 15, with the participation of the members of the Supreme Council, the Home Office employees and many friends of the Federation. The work has begun, and we shall report the progress of the construction in the successive issues of our “Fraternity”. NEW SECTION OFFICE We are glad to report, especially to our membership in New Jersey, that in order to give better service to our many branches in the New Brunswick area, we have opened a new Section Office with the Rev. Leslie J. Carey, District Manager, and Mr. Julius Furrier, Section Manager, in charge. The permanent office secretary is Mrs. Margaret Szerecz, who is familiar with the work of the Federation, having been one of our Home Office employees a few years ago. The Section Office, located at 216 Somerset Street, opened for business on April 15, and our staff will hereafter be available to give personal service to everyone in all matters pertaining to insurance. NEW OFFICERS We have been requested to report that on March 25, 1963, at the regular monthly meeting of the Eastern Section of the National Hungarian Reformed Ministerial Association, the following officers were unanimously elected: Dr. Stephen M. Böszörményi, president; Rev. Imre Bertalan, vice president; Rev. Joseph Marshalko, secretary; Rev. Gabor Csordás, treasurer; Rev. Francis Vitéz, controller. The nominating committee included: Dr. Andrew Harsanyi, Dr. Aladar Komjáthy, Rev. Imre Bertalan and Rev. Francis Vitéz. The meeting, which was conducted by Dr. Arthur R. Moor, legal advisor of the Hungarian Synod, resolved that the new officers shall hold their offices until September 1964. Under the leadership of the former president, the Rev. Andrew Hamza, administrator of the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Ministerial Association’s Eastern Section developed into an active and creative unit. It will undoubtedly continue to grow in like manner under Dr. Boszormenyi’s presidency also. Dr. Böszörményi was president of the Hungarian Synod for four years and this past March received the honor of being elected permanent president of the 1925 graduating class of the Lancaster (Pennsylvania) Theological Seminary Alumni Association. As we congratulate the new officers and ask God’s blessings upon the work of all the ministers in the Eastern District, we also offer the services of our Federation in the spirit of true fraternalism and Christian friendship.
