FRATERNITY 3 JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST SUPREME COUNCIL MEETING Important Resolutions The first regular meeting of the Supreme Council in 1962 was held in Washington, D. C., in the Conference Room of the Dupont Circle Building, the temporary Home Office of our Federation. All the officers and directors were present for the five-day meeting beginning April 9 to 13. They passed the following resolutions which we are happy to report to our membership, not only for record, but as informative communications also. FIRST DAY — APRIL 9 Present were: George E. K. Borshy, president; Dr. Zoltán Beky, Dr. Stephen Szabó, Gazéi Vespremi, vice presidents; Joseph Kecskemethy, secretary; Paul St. Miklossy, treasurer; László L. Eszenyi, controller; Stephen Syposs, Matthias Daroczy, Tibor Toth, Joseph Molnár, William Szuch, Louis Nagy, Zigmond Palagyi, Bertalan Sathmary and Arpad George, regular members; Emery Király, honorary member; Dr. Frank Horvath, medical director; and Alexander Daroczy, superintendent of the Bethlen Home. After the opening prayer by Dr. Stephen Szabó, the officers, be­ginning with the President, followed by the Secretary, Treasurer and Controller, read their reports for the year 1961, which the Supreme Council unanimously accepted. The Council discussed the Medical Director’s comprehensive report and accepted it as read. The Superintendent of the Bethlen Home reported the achievements for the year 1961, and the Supreme Council acknowledged that: The new by-laws, accepted on September 7, 1961, were ordered effective that same day by the Board of Directors of the Bethlen Home. The Legal Counsellor prepared an amendment to the charter of the Bethlen Home based upon the provisions of the new by­laws, upon which it may qualify for tax exemption. In order to increase the value of the Home’s fourteen lots, new water mains shall be installed. The Council unanimously agreed that the firm now constructing the central portion of the Old People’s Home complete the interior of that section. At the request of the Superintendent of the Bethlen Home, the Supreme Council unanimously RESOLVED, That the construction of the yet unfinished wing be completed as adequate funds are available to the Board of Directors of the
