24 FRATERNITY >N I ERI BETHLEN OTTHONUNKBAN HE AGED IN OUR BETHLEN HOME Next summer, on the forty-first anniversary of the establishment of our Bethlen Home, we hope to dedicate the building pictured above. Unfavorable weather, which might slow down construction, would be the only possibility for a delay of these plans. As these lines go to press — December 16 — the building is already under roof. The contractor can now proceed with inside work during Ligonier's invigorating winter weather. With the rising of the imposing building, the grounds of the Old Folks' Home will take on a new look also. The steep hillside in front of the building is to be landscaped. A new road, lined with trees, will extend around the entire property. Ample space for 100 automobiles will solve the parking problem. Shrubbery will add greatly to the appearance of the new edifice. Beyond a doubt, the new Old Folks' Home will be one of the most imposing buildings in town, as well as an outstanding attraction in Ligonier Valley. These, of course, are the external aspects of the new building. Its real value and purpose will be to offer our tired old folks a comfortable home unequaled by any other in our Hungarian community — one which can compete with the best of similar institutions here in America. We take this opportunity to invite the members and friends of our Federation to the "great day" of dedication, detailed notice of which will follow in due time. Until then, we hopefully await the generous response to our appeal for your charitable help which will crown our project.
