FRATERNITY 7 LET’S SMILE A proud grandmother was out for a stroll with two visiting grandsons when she met an old friend. “My, what handsome boys!” exclaimed the friend. “How old are they?” “The doctor”, said their grandmother, “is seven and the jet pilot is four.” ★ ★ ★ Twinkle, twinkle, little star, We will soon know what you are, In a space ship we will travel And your mystery unravel. ★ ★ ★ A boy who usually earned money mowing lawns was slow about leaving his house one Saturday morning. His father asked him why. “Oh”, the boy answered, “I’m waiting until they get started. I get most of my work from people who are already half-way through.” ★ ★ ★ “If you had to choose between marrying for love or money, Jane, which would you choose?” asked her friend. “Love, I suppose”, replied Jane. “I always seem to do the wrong thing.” ★ ★ ★ “Why didn’t you report the robbery at once?” an insurance agent asked a woman claimant. “Didn’t you suspect something when you came home and discovered all the drawers opened, and the contents scattered?” “Not really”, she replied. “I thought my husband had been looking for a clean shirt.” ★ ★ ★ Librarian: “What kind of book would you like? Something light or something heavy?” Man: “It really doesn’t matter. I have my car outside.” X ★ ★ Two golfers, strangers to each other, happened to meet on the golf links. “See that girl over there?” said one. “Imagine her parents allowing her to appear in clothes like that. Just copying men’s clothes.” “That, sir, is my daughter”, said the second golfer. “Oh, pardon me, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were her father.” “I’m not. I’m her mother.” ★ ★ ★ Upon entering the room a woman recognized the celebrity who was to address her group pacing madly back and forth. “Are you always nervous like this before you make a speech?” she asked. “Nervous? Why no, I never get nervous”, he replied. “Oh, no?” observed the woman. “Then what are you doing here in the Ladies’ Rest Room?”
