How often should I review my Will? A Will should be reviewed whenever there is a change in the immediate family — birth, death, divorce, move to another state, major acquisition of property; in any event, once a year. 10. Is a Will needed for life insurance? No — if the proceeds are payable to named beneficiaries. How­ever, if the proceeds are payable to your estate, you may wish to provide for their distribution by Will. “If you work in employment covered by social security you should check with your social security district office to see if all your earnings have been properly credited to your account.” This answer was given by Victor Sadd, manager of the Washington Social Security district office recently in response to a question about possible errors in the mainte­nance of social security wage and self-employment records. Mr. Sadd pointed out that social security records should be checked every three years. “If this is done and errors are discovered it is much easier for the social security office to make corrections.” All of us check our bank deposits from time to time. It is just as important to check our social security accounts at least once each three vears. When we realize that our future monetary security may depend on the amount of earnings in our social security, the accuracy of that account may be as important to us as money in the bank. For social security benefits will be based on the individual’s earnings record. “The social security office has a special postcard form with which you can request a statement of your earnings. When you receive the statement, check it carefully against your own records. If you believe that there are errors, notify the social security office”, Mr. Sadd said. “Finally, always remember”, Mr. Sadd concluded, “that the accuracy of your future social security benefit payments will depend upon the accu­racy of your social security record.” YOU SHOULD CHECK!
