FRATERNITY 5 JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: ITEMS OF INTEREST RECENTLY INSTALLED The Reverend Mr. Joseph Molnár III, formerly of Hazelwood, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was recently installed as the pastor of the First Hungarian Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Brunswick, N. J. The newly installed young pastor is a graduate of Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg, Pa. In addition to his academic training, he received special training in social work and related fields under the Lutheran Inner Mission Society of Washington, D. C. He was ordained last June by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of New Jersey. He is married to the former Elaine Bonnett of Brooklyn, N. Y. Attending the installation, celebrated on September 20, were Pastor Molnar’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Molnár, Jr., and his grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Molnár, Sr., all of Hazelwood. Liturgist for the installation was the Reverend Mr. Arnold Dahlquist, while the preacher was the Reverend Mr. W. William Kuhre of Punxsutawney, Pa., brother-in-law to Pastor Molnár. The order for installation was read by the Reverend Dr. Edwin Knudten, president of the New Jersey Synod. We are especially proud to report this happy event and at the same lime extend our congratulations to the young pastor and to his parents, who are co-workers in our Federation. Mr. Molnár is our Pittsburgh District Manager, while Mrs. Molnár is Branch Manager of Branch 235. Knowing this fine Christian family and the fact that the young minister had such good training for the Christian ministry, we are certain that his work among the older and younger generations in his first pastorate will be successful. We also feel sure that as a new servant of the Lord of Hungarian origin, he will help preserve the great heritages of the Hungarian Protestants in this country and at the same time will do his best to acquaint his people with the excellent services afforded by our Federation and our Bethlen Home. Along with our best wishes we ask God’s blessings on the new pastor, his family and his congregation. TRAGEDY IN TRENTON Tragedy struck the Hungarian colony in Trenton, N. J., when an 18-year-old hit-and-run driver caused the untimely death of Frank Csanyi, 41, on October 17, 1959.
