2 FRATERNITY has a stranglehold on Asia) until the day came when the United States would have to face — all alone — the communist dominated world. “Moscow offered to evacuate Hungary beginning with the coming year” — I heard the whispering propaganda lately — “if American war-mongers would give up their European military bases and markets.” They certainly would. But remember that Russian troops “evacuated” to Northern Hungary — which is at the present time an integral part of the U. S. S. R. — would still practically remain in our old country, while American forces would have to cross an ocean in case of an armed conflict. And so, the Red propaganda machinery is rolling on and on. With the summit conferences in sight, the lie-campaign is expected to become even stronger. Recognize propaganda when you hear it. Be on guard at all times for the propaganda of half-truth. It is the most poisonous. HISTORICAL DECLARATIONS PRESIDENT DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER: “. . . Budapest is no longer merely the name of a city; henceforth, it is a new shining symbol of man’s yearning to be free . . .” JAWAHARLAL PANDIT NEHRU, N. Y. Times Magazine, Sept. 7, 1958: “. . . What happened in Hungary demonstrates that the desire of national freedom is stronger even than any ideology and cannot ultimately be suppressed . . .” ALBERT CAMUS, November 1, 1957: “. . . The subjugated and enslaved Hungary did more for the cause of freedom and justice than any other people in the world during the last 20 years . . .” USE KOSSUTH STAMPS In Sept. 1958, the United States Post Office added the distinguished name of LAJOS KOSSUTH to its “Champions of Liberty” series. Thus the U. S. A. duly honored the heritage of Hungarian-Americans. What have you done to popularize these Kossuth stamps? These stamps, in denominations of four and eight cents, are still available. (Use the eight- centers for Air Mail — it’s worth the extra penny!) Those who cannot get them locally may send their requests along with FULL PRICE (no service charge) of stamps requested to: MR. STEPHEN SZIARTO 1801 “P” Street, N. W. Kossuth House Washington 6, D. C.
