FAMILIES MUST HAVE SECURITY

The family is the foundation of all social existence, be it of race, nation, community or church, and thus the foundation in the life of our Federation as well. The family not only receives and preserves its past heritages, but passes these on to future generations along with other acquired values.

The family is a gracious gift of God, and man, in his inherent nature, not only reveres and loves his family, but defends and protects his loved ones, and it is through his intelligence and foresight that he provides them with security for the future.

Loving care begins in the home. It comes into full bloom in the intimate family circle and it is here that its blessed effects are first felt. Loving care brings joy, happiness, peace and contentment to the family and as a result the effects are felt in .society also. A really happy family life exists in homes where the spirit of mutual care and esteem are prevalent . . . where the parents actively demonstrate their loving care and concern. The father, as head of the family, must keep in mind the welfare of those whom God has placed in his care and he must carry out his paternal obligations by providing for his family’s physical and spiritual necessities. In addition, he must protect and provide security for his family and to think of these safeguards in proper time and in proper measure.

Bearing in mind the importance of the family and the ne- cessitv of family security, our Federation has chosen to designate the year 1959 as “THE YEAR OF FAMILY SECURITY”. With this designation we shall introduce our newest type of life insurance protection, known as the “FAMILY SECURITY7 PLAN”. This new plan will offer exceptional benefits and the best security on a single certificate, with one combined premium for tile entire family unit, including the parents, their children from 0 to 22 years of age, as well as those children not yet born.

In addition to our Family Security Plan, we shall also bring into circulation our increased Hospitalization and Sick Benefit Protection Plans which will pay double and triple the amounts of the present daily and weekly hospitalization and sick benefit schedules. These plans will also offer greater protection and security for the families. We must be ever mindful of the some-
