For evidence that the fraternal benefit system possesses such a foundation, -we need only reflect upon its history and ideals of nearly a century of service. These ideals are of enduring quality for they have been able to adjust to changing circumstances and have grown stronger and deeper in significance. A common bond of brotherhood, stemming from religion, nationalism, and the in­nate desire for mutual welfare is the indestructible fabric of our great system. So long as there are free people willing to contribute of them­selves for the space they occupy on God’s earth, there too will be found a vibrant and growing fraternal system dedicated to the well­being and dignity of man. Our opportunity for accelerated growth in our dual capacity as a fraternal benefit system is unlimited. We need but improve our communications with the public and be less reticent to expose our good works to the light of day. It has been recognized by many that we have kept our light under the so-called “basket". Remarkable progress during the past quarter century has been made in providing the membership with an excellent, comprehensive anr flexible program of insurance.
