FRATERNITY 13 Scholarships and Grants Tuition scholarships of $800 to $1600 are offered to students of Hungarian descent and others. Students not of Hungarian ancestry are urged to apply for these scholarships. Modern language requirements for the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees are fulfilled by the study of Hungarian. Hungarian is related to the Finnish and Estonian languages. Awards are granted on the basis of the scholastic record of the high school students. Applicants must be in the upper ten per cent of their graduating class. Financially needy students may apply for special grants. Students with a “C” grade average may apply. Awards for the second year and succeeding years will be made, provided the student’s record is consistent with his ability, and his need for assistance continues. These scholarships and grants are made available through the generosity of the American Hungarian Studies Foundation. ★ ★ ★ Applications for scholarships and admission must be filed by March 15.
