FRATERNITY 3 the wholeness of your personality. Be so rich that you could divide your life into the lives of others. Because thus you conquer yourself and this is Life Everlasting. Have you seen a May shower as it dances through parched meadows and above thirsty woods, barefooted, with shimmering, billowing shirts, with lightning like hairpins in her blood tresses? She embraces, skips about, repulses, shouts her wild chants, taps her heels and rushes away. Then she is no more here: but the sunshine returns and the endless blue sky reappears. She has vanished, men say. She stays, claims the World. She is the secret life force in the growth of the wheat fields. She lives in the vigor of the refreshed foliage. She smiles from the bright chalice of flowers. She lives on in the purified atmosphere, in the breathing of all creatures. May all live this way in the life of other men — because^ this is Life Everlasting. Budapest, November 1, 1944.
