FRATERNITY 11 JOSEPH KECSKEMETHY: IN MEMORY OF REV. ARP AD BERNATH The news of Rev. Arpad Bernath’s death came as a great shock to everyone, especially at the Federation’s main office, because it was just a short while before that Rev. Bernath attended the District Managers’ meeting in Washington where everyone had such a pleasant time visiting with each other. Rev. Bernath was a dedicated minister, a loving friend, a good neighbor to all and a conscientious worker for our Federation. His death is felt not only by his Church which he loved and served so faithfully in these past years, but by our field force and the many co-workers in our Federation, as well as all the members of the Mining District whom he visited so often and knew so well. As we pay our respect to Rev. Bernath through our “Fraternity”, we convey not only the heartfelt sympathy of the Officers of the Federation, but also the sorrow of his colleagues, the district managers and all the members of the Mining District. The following letter from Mrs. Audrey Davis, of 215 Hedrick Street, Beckley, West Virginia, and the members of Branch 248 is one of the many expressions of tribute received in memory of the late Rev. Arpad Bernath: “Word has come to us that our District Manager, Reverend Arpad L. Bernath, of Morgantown, passed away. Since we did not receive this word in time to send a floral tribute, we wish to have this letter published in the ‘Fraternity’. “Rev. Bernath was more than an Insurance Representative to us. He visited us whenever possible, listened to our troubles and gave us a helping hand whenever he could, both spiritually and financially. Although his own immediate family is still overseas, he was not alone here. We wish there could have been more ways to have shown our appreciation.” May God bless his memory among us!
