FRATERNITY 13 “WE SHALL CONTINUE . . ” Washington 6, D. C. November 12, 1956. Dear Mr. Borshy: Thank you very much for your telegram of November 8th expressing your reactions to our display of last Thursday evening. Our organization, as you may know from its past history, has demonstrated that Communits can be taken on and can be defeated by democratic forces. We shall continue in our efforts to inspire that belief in everyone oppressed by totalitarian Communism or Fascism. If our display of the other evening served to renew in any small measure the determination of free people everywhere to labor for justice, decency, and economic and political freedom for all of the world, then we have achieved our purpose. If in the activities of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America there is anything we can reasonably contribute to the success of their efforts to assure a democratic Hungary, then we hope you will feel free to call upon us. Thank you again. Sincerely yours, AL HARTNETT, Secretary-Treasurer International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers . . THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE ARE WITH THEM” Dear Mr. Borshy: This will acknowledge with thanks your letter to the Republican National Committee with reference to the Hungarian people. As you probably know, President Eisenhower had called for action by the United Nations on this very serious situation, and, of course, his action had the strong support of all of us here at the Republican National Committee. All peoples of the world with but rare exception could hold these great Hungarian patriots in only the highest esteem. I am sure that everywhere the hearts of the people are with them. It is our sincere hope that in the not-too-distant future the country of Hungary, which gave Kossuth to the world, will once again be free. With kindest regards, I am Sincerely yours, A. B.
