22 FRATERNITY The Committee worked in two separate groups, on subcommittees examining the office of the Treasurer and the other that of the Auditor. They examined the books and files and the handling of cash assets of both offices very carefully, and concluded that the ledgers and books are kept very clear and punctual, and that the handling of the cash assets corresponds exactly to the reports published by both offices; therefore, the Committee recommends that the Convention vote thanks to Emery Király, Treasurer, and Edmund Vasvary, Auditor, for their fine work, and release them from their official responsibility. Similarly, Mr. Jack H. Zeitlin, Accountant, deserves our sincere gratitude for his 25- year service, for which the Convention should express its appreciation with a vote of thanks. The Convention unanimously accepted the recommendation. 57. The Committee recommended that for the sake of more efficient handling of the enlarged business of the Treasury, one new full-time worker should be obtained. The Convention favorably recommends this to the attention of the Supreme Council. 58. The Committee recommended that the Federation ask those students who in the past have received aid to show an expression of their gratitude by returning something into the Student Fund of the Federation in order that such aid might be given to others. The Convention accepted the recommendation. 59. The Committee favorably submitted to the Convention the motion of Louis Balint, delegate, that the Federation help the Hungarian Department of Elmhurst College either with a $100,000.00 endowment or with a $3,000.00 yearly donation. The Convention transmits this resolution to the Supreme Council for further study and action. 60. The Committee recommended that for the widow of our late Secretary, Stephen Molnár, who is living under difficult circumstances, a monthly pension of $50.00 (yearly $600.00 aid) be given, starting with July 1, 1956. Likewise, the Committee recommended that the Supreme Council provide suitable aid for the widows of our deceased District Managers. The Convention accepted with good will these recommendations, and entrusted the Supreme Council with their execution. 61. The Committee recommended that our Convention consider the motion that our Federation, on the occasion of its 60th anniversary, give a $100.00 jubilee gift to those workers in the Central Office who were not able to attend the Convention. The Convention transferred the recommendation with favor to the Supreme Council.
