16 TESTVÉRISÉG The Conveníion gratefully acknowledged the greet­ings and upon the motion of Matthias Daroczy ex­pressed its own gratitude to the above named offi­cers for their activities by which they acquired honors for the Federation. 22. Upon the request of the President, Emery Király, Treasurer, submitted his Convention report. Upon the motion of Andrew Szabó, delegate, sec­onded by Joseph Fodor, delegate, the Convention accepted the report for further deliberation and ordered it to be attached to the Appendix of the Minutes. (Appendix No. 5.) 23. Upon the request of the President, Edmund Vas- vary, Auditor, submitted his Convention report, in con­nection with which he pointed to the interesting fact that during the past four years the assets of the Fed­eration grew by $1,215 per day. Upon the motion of Charles Papp, delegate, sec­onded by John Nagy, delegate, the Convention accepted the report for further deliberation and ordered it to be attached to the Appendix of the Minutes. (Appendix No. 6.) 24. The President presented Dr. Francis Horvath, Medi­cal Director, and his wife, and reported with pleasure that Georgetown University recently decorated our Medical Director, who is a Professor there and Di­rector of its Hospital, with a diploma of high dis­tinction and also a gold medal. The Medical Director expressed his thanks for the remembrance of this dis­tinction and presented his Convention report. Upon the motion of Charles Papp, delegale, sec­onded by Andrew Lenarf, delegate, the Convention declared that the distinction of our Medical Di­rector honors us loo, and, accepting the report for further deliberation, ordered it to be attached to the Appendix of the Minutes. (Appendix No. 7.) 25. The President presented J. H. Zeitlin, Accountant, who served our Federation for the past 25 years, and to whom, as to our Medical Director, we owe appre­ciation and gratitude for placing the Federation on healthy foundations, furthering its growth. Upon his request, the Accountant presented his Convention report. Upon the motion of Andrew Kosa, delegate, sec­onded by Andrew Fedorko, delegate, the Conven­tion accepted the report for further deliberation, ordered the discussion of the details in the meet­ing of the Committee, and the attachment of the report to the Appendix of the Minutes. (Appendix No. 8.) 26. The President presented Aladar A. Fiok, Counsellor- at-Law, who is also Counsellor-at-Law of the Free Magyar Reformed Church, and lately, Assistant Dis­trict Attorney of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Upon his request, the Counsellor-at-Law presented his Con­vention report. Upon the motion of Joseph Fodor, delegate, sec­onded by Paul Markovits, delegate, the Convention accepted the report for further deliberation and ordered it to be attached to the Appendix of the Minutes, at the same time congratulating the Coun­sellor-at-Law for the honor conferred upon him. (Appendix No. 9.) 27. Upon the request of the President, Joseph Kecske- methy, Director, presented his report for the four years of activities of the Bethlen Home, adding to it, that the First Church in Bridgeport presented a sound film moving projector, and the Dayton Church, two tele­vision sets, to the Home. Upon ihe motion of John Kanocz, delegate, sec­onded by John Nagy, delegate, the Convention accepted the report of the Director of the Home and ordered it to be attached to the Appendix of ihe Minutes, and joined the Director in expressing our thanks to the congregations and pastors for their generosity manifested towards the institution. (Appendix No. 10.) 28. The Secretary presented the following recommenda­tion of the Supreme Council: “Be it resolved by the Convention, that the per diem traveling allowance should be $25.00 for distances not greater than 100 miles; $50.00 for distances greater» than 100 miles; for the delegate from California, $100.00. The traveling expenses should be 8 cents per mile; for the delegate from California, first class railroad or airplane fare. The honorarium should be $200.00 without any con­sideration of the time spent in Convention; this same honorarium shall be received by the invited advisory members of the Convention, if they remain to the end of the Convention, and also by the invited representa­tives of the press and by the two employees in charge of Convention services. The hotel and meal expenses are to be deducted from this sum.” After a short debate, upon ihe motion of Joseph Hegedűs, seconded by Stephen E. Balogh, the Con­vention accepted the recommendation with all voles but one. 29. The President recessed the meeting at noon. 30. At 1:30 P. M., after the singing of a hymn, the President reopened the Convention. 31. Before the business of the day, Charles Papp, dele­gate, moved that the Convention would send a letter of greetings to each of our five living founding mem­bers, to be signed by each member of the Convention. Zoltán Beky, delegate, added to the motion that the golden membership emblem should be sent to each of them. Upon the motion of Andrew Fedorko, delegate, the Convention accepted both recommendations unani­mously, praying for God's blessing upon the lives of the charter members, namely: George Bandre and wife, John Nagy, Mrs. Michael Danes and Mrs. Andrew Bodnar. 32. On behalf of the Supreme Council, the Secretary recommended that the Convention should appoint three Committees already agreed upon, with the following delegates: I.
