TESTVÉRISÉG 19 States, so that our Convention, held in war time, might create unppleasant misunderstandings, and (f) WHEREAS, serious difficulties and restrictions beside those of transportation are already manifest in regard to lödging and feeding the members and guests of the Convention which, in all probability, in the future will be even more stringent, and (g) WHEREAS, even if we would make plans to hold the Convention, the possibility of last-minute forced cancellation would have to be reckoned with, and (h) WHEREAS, the heavy expenses of the Convention held this year would unfavorably influence our present satisfactory financial situation and favorable actuarial valuation, and (i) WHEREAS, according to the convention and best knowledge of the Supreme Council, no urgent necessity exists concerning important changes in the By-Laws, organization or methods of activities in the life of the Federation, that would make the holding of the Convention in 1943 absolutely necessary, and (j) WHEREAS, the Suppreme Council is anxious to avoid the possibility that in the absence of our war-worker members, the Convention assume an overwhelmingly churchly appearance or character, and (k) WHEREAS, a Convention held now could not enact any important and far- reaching plans, SUPREME COUNCIL, considering the forgoing arguments, but chiefly because it does not want to act contrary to the official recommendations, appealing to our patriotic sentiments and duty, by virtue of Par. 21 of our By-Laws, being empowered to exercise all the supervisory, executive and administrative powers between Conventions, RESOLVES that the Convention of the Federation, planned for Aug., 1943, will be postponed to more advantageous times, not to exceed the duration of the war. Supreme Council, according to its official oath, will continue its lowful existence and activity, until in consequence of changed circumstances, the convocation of the Convention will be possible. Supreme Council authorizes and orders the officers, elected by the last Convention, to remain in their offices and to fulfill their lawful duties according to the directions of the By-Laws and regulations enacted by the Supreme Council, and to prepare their quadrennial reports, to be presented to the extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council, Sep., 1943. A titkári jelentés részletes tárgyalása folyamán a gyűlés a következő határozatokat hozta: A költségvetés tételeit a Vt. elfogadja s az egyházi, világi és rádió hirdetésekre költhető évi összeget $5000-ban állapit ja meg. Osztalék A gyermekosztály havi 20 vagy 25 centet fizető tagjai 1943-ban is két havi dij- elengedésben (dividend) részesülnek. Katona tagok Azok a 20 vagy 25 centes havidijt fizető ifjúsági tagok, akik okmányuk lejárta előtt katonák lesznek, nagyobb biztosítás helyett a gyermekosztály tagjai maradhatnak rendes dij fizetés mellett a háború végéig s részesülnek teljes jogaikban (vagy is örököseik a teljes haláleseti segélyt kapják okmányaik után!), a háború után pedig, akkor elért életkoruk szerint magasabb biztosítást vehetnek. Vörös Kereszt Vezértestület az Egyesület nevében újabb $500-t adományoz a Vörös Kereszt háborús alapjára. Felmentvény Végigtárgyalva a tisztikari jelentést, Vezértestület azt részleteiben elfogadta és jóváhagyta s elismeréssel a tisztikar tagjainak végzett munkája fölött, számukra a felmentvényt megadta. Uj biztosítási terv J. H. Zeitlin, actuary, jelentésével kapcsolatban a gyűlés kimondotta, hogy a többi országos jellegű egyesülettel együttműködve alacsonyabb kamatozású biztosítási terv szerint dolgoztatja ki a jövőben kiadandó uj okmányait. Átszervezés Hasonlóképen a Betegsegélyző Osztály számára, az egyes államok kívánalmainak megfelelőbb, átszervezési terv is a többi egyesületekkel együtt dolgozandó ki s az ezt tárgyaló értekezletre behivandók lesznek a testületek hivatalos számfejtői is. Hivatalos lap ára Az általános drágulásra tekintettel a hivatalos lap nyomási alapárát a gyűlés 20%-al felemelni engedélyezte.
