A Canadian Magyar Monthly for the enlightenment and entertainment of Hungarians, edited by Dr. A. Czakó, published by The United Church oj Canada. Fifth year, No. 4 October, 1942 CONTENTS. Count Michael Károlyi, the President of the New Democratic Hungary Movement, gives a concise, very clear statement about the Danubian Federation as the only possible source oj peace between the Danubian countries. This Federation is intended to bring into harmony and peaceful unity about 70—80 million people with progressive and social governments of their own. This Federation will be on good terms with Socialist Russia but opposed to any German political influence. Sacrifices — in the interest of Peace — will be demanded of all the people concerned, but in exchange their welfare should very much increase. This is a truly masterful essay, not meant for homeconsumption only (as most nationalistic exhortations of the past were) but is open advice for everyman well worth thinking over and realizing. Peter Porvai tells about his experiences during his vacation. These will not cause world-revolution, because listening to birds and cicadas and making peace with Mr. Skunk and little Chip-munk will not influence the course of World events, but they may make us love Nature more and thereby find a new source of happiness. In the Notes we have reprinted “Jesus a>id Relief’ from the Catholic Crusader published in relief-days. It contains consolation for those who had to take relief and a few hints to those who organized it. — What does education mean apart .from knowledge and cleanliness? You are educated, says the following note by a professor, if you are able to answer with “yes” a few questions. We have printed the questions. What does it mean to trust in God? In this issue is the beautiful and most acceptable answer by Pius XII. — We have a note on “Otto oj Austria” (as Otto Hapsburg calls himself when he does not write to M' gyars) and on the Free Austrian newspaper, Donau-Eclw. — A remarkable Hungarian Encyclopedia was published in Budapest last year. It deals only with modem names and events but in a very critical way. We have quoted the text on three word: Aryan, Corruption and Authority, in which Nazi ideology is given a proper answer.
