Summary
Hajnalka Keresztes Chapters from the History of the Reformed Germans in Nagyszékely In her study the author tries to present the history and life of the German Reformed community that lives in Nagyszékely that has been hardly any research devoted to. Besides, we can read biographies about the clerics of the congregation and the history of church-building. Furthermore, we can get to know the main characteristics of Puritan moral behaviour of those believers who live here. The study summarizes the research results of the author which she carried out in the Ráday Collection, in the Tolna County Archives and the local ecclesia. In her study the writer partly relies on reminiscences that she had collected before. Márta Fuksz The Petrits family The author wrote up the story of the Petrits family in her study. The family that comes from Tolna has been dealing with arts and crafts for seven generations. The writer discusses the economic and social status of this family in detail, she presents their role and place among the craftsmen of Tolna and Szekszárd. The reader receives an expressive picture about crafts such as gingerbread-making and candle-making. The study is arranged chronologically and there is a separate chapter that deals with other honey-cake making families in Tolna county, and their relationship with the Petrits family. In the last chapter we can read the story of fifty years after the nationalization and we can get to know how the family survived it and how they developed the workshop to be one of the most profitable enterprises in Szekszárd.
