Embroidery Societies in Muravidék

societies can reach the high-set professional standards. Beszprémyjózsefné helped the founding of the Society in Dobronak and Dr. Baracska Józsefné mentored the Society of Hármasmalom. In the Hungarian minority in Slovenia there are 14 societies whose professional standards are owed to the professional folk artists from Muravidék. Margit Horvát won the Handicraft Artist Award in 2003, Olga Jandl in 2007 and Darinka Antolašic in 2010. The professional folk artists help teach and preserve the Hetési handiwork and embroidery culture so it will not be lost to future generations. The Embroidery Societies in Muravidék have an invaluable role in preserving the Hetési textile culture. The societies also have an important role in the cultural life ot the villages, helping the elderly to not feel lonely and depressed. They also play a vital role in preserving the Hungarian language, identity and the Hetési heritage in Muravidék. 80
