Diagnostic procedures and the process of decision-making are presented in detail through clinical examples of different stages of the disease: gold standard methods are accompanied by new approaches and new technologies. The course gives a summary of evidence-based, widely approved therapeutical options and also presents novel treatment choices which through the growing number of inland and foreign clinical evidence might modify the current therapeutical protocol of diabetic retinopathy in the future.
