zó hátsó kérgi lencsehomályok kialakulása a retinotomia nélküli vitrectomiákkal összehasonlítva nem mutat nagyobb gyakoriságot.10

Az igen súlyos proliferációs folyamatok, valamint hoszszan fennálló ideghártya-leválás ellenére az anatómiai, illetve funkcionális eredmények jónak mondhatók. Eredményeink alapján megállapíthatjuk, hogy a relaxációs retinotomia megfelelő indikációk mellett kevés szövődménnyel járó sebészi beavatkozás, melynek elvégzése jó anatómiai és funkcionális eredményeket biztosít a retina zsugorodásával társult proliferativ vitreoretinopathia eseteiben. Indikációja individuális, a PVR stádiumától, illetve aktivitási fokától függ, de minden olyan esetben javasolható, ahol trakció, illetve zsugorodott retinaterületek maradnak vissza a membrán-eltávolítást követően is.
