139. évfolyam (2002) Supplementum II. mature cataract (blocking any view of the fundus) in one eye, and a fellow eye with ability for fixation. Patients with any positivity of ultrasound В-scan, and glaucoma patients, were excluded. Using the “Retiscan” equipment, the central 30° radius area of the retina was stimulated by an image of 61 hexagons flickering at 75 Hz. An “ERG jet” electrode was used. Response density of the b-wave amplitude was measured in 5 zonal rings; results were compared to those obtained for 23 age-matched control subjects. Postoperative visual acuity was checked using the Snellen chart. Results: Retinogram fields of acceptable quality were recorded in every case. In each ring - and particularly in the 3 central rings - response density for the eyes with cataract was significantly lower than that for the controls. The bestcorrected visual acuity for 50% of the patients was between 0.5-1.0. Macular degeneration was not found. Conclusions: Dense cataract did not prevent recording of mfERG responses, but reduced amplitudes were found. The very low preoperative response density (45% of the normal value in the 1st ring) allowed good quality of vision postoperatively. • Műkönnyben oldott szteroid szuszpenzió • az elülső szegmens gyulladásaira, mellyel • a szemnyomás emelkedés kockázata csekély 1) Herbert I., Cantrill et al, Comparison of in Vitro Potency of Corticosteroids With Ability to Raise Intraoculare Pressure, AJO 79 (6): 1012-1017 (1975) 2) Buch H.E., Ellis R.A., Clinical Studies With a New Steroid-Fluorometholone.
