Szemészet Cataract surgery in patients with juvenile chronic arthritis-associated iridocyclitis (case report) Géhl, Zsuzsanna, Bausz, Mária, Süveges, Ildikó Г' Dept, of Ophthalmology, Medical Faculty, Semmelweis University, Budapest Purpose: To review the surgical approach and perioperative treatment in the case of two patients who had cataract associated with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). Methods: Two of our patients, aged 18 and 21 years, underwent cataract surgery for JRA- associated cataract. In the first case a PMMA posterior chamber lens was implanted in each eye, while in the other case heparin surface-modified posterior chamber lenses were used. Results: At the end of the follow-up period of 47 and 59 months, the patients’ visual acuity was found to be 1.0/1.0 and 0.3/0.9, respectively. Conclusion: Cataract surgery with posterior chamber implant, when performed with appropriate perioperative medication and at the proper age, was found to be a safe and effective procedure in cases with JRA-associated cataract. Phacoemulsificatio és hátsó csarnoki műlencse beültetésének eredményei uveitises anamnézisű betegeknél Koblencz Alexandra, Vogt Gábor, Balázs Krisztina, Dudás Veronika MÁV Kórház, Szemészeti Osztály, Budapest Célkitűzés: A MÁV Kórház Szemészeti Osztályán 1999. október 30. és 2001 november 30. között uveitises anamnézisű betegeken elvégzett phacoemulsificatio és műlencse-beültetés eredményeinek vizsgálata. Betegek és módszer: 14 nő és 3 férfi 19 szemén történt phacoemulsificatio és hátsó tok műlencse beültetés. A retrospektív tanulmányban elemeztük a betegek életkorát, az uveitis és a cataracta típusát, a műtétet nehezítő és a jó látáseredményt akadályozó szemészeti elváltozásokat. Megvizsgáltuk a visus és a szemnyomás változását, az alkalmazott műtéti technikát és esetleges szövődményeket, a beültetett műlencsék típusát és a posztoperatív gyulladás előfordulását. Eredmények: A posztoperatív 6. héten 12 betegnek volt 0.7, ill. ennél jobb, 5 betegnek 0,4, ill. ennél jobb, 2 betegnek 0,25-nél jobb visusa. A műtétek során 1 esetben fordult elő szövődmény (hátsótok-ruptúra és üvegtest-veszteség). Korai posztoperatív gyulladás nem fordult elő. Fuchs-féle heterochromiás iridocyclitisek esertén a későbbiekben sem alakult ki gyulladás. Egyéb anamnézisű uveitisek esetén 2 alkalommal észleltünk késői posztoperatív anterior iridocyclitist. Következtetés: Alapos preoperatív kivizsgálás, megfelelő műtéti időpont kiválasztás, jó műtéti technika és gondos posztoperatív nyomon követés mellett a phacoemulsificatio és műlencse-beültetés biztonsággal elvégezhető műtéti eljárás uveitises anamnézisű betegeknél is. The results of phacoemulsification with posterior chamber lens implantation in patients with uveitis Koblencz, Alexandra, Vogt, Gábor, Balázs, Krisztina, Dudás, Veronika Dept, of Ophthalmology, MA V Hospital, Budapest Purpose: Retrospective study of the results of phacoemulsification with posterior chamber lens implantation in patients with uveitis, for operations performed between 30 Oct. 1999 and 30 Nov. 2001 at the ophthalmic department of the Central Hospital for Railway Employees. Subjects and methods: Data for 19 eyes of 17 patients (14 female, 3 male) was included in the study; in all cases, phacoemulsification with posterior chamber lens implantation had been performed.
