On the basis of data of 200 glaucoma patients the high incidence of diabetes mellitus, hypertonia, and of females, the evident efficiency of the classical diagnostic methods in the early diagnosis of glaucoma and its smaller role in the detection of an early deterioration of visual functions was established. It was stated that the efficacy of Timoptic eyedrops decreases after a two and a half year period. In all glaucoma types a determined decrease of functions could be observed in a prolonged observation period, but in primary glaucoma cases detected in an early stage the decrease of visual functions is slower.

A diabeteszes retinopátiáról (szűrés, értékelés és kezelés).

Az értekezlet célja a diabeteszes retinopátia megelőzésére és kezelésére vonatkozó, Európában használatos, egységesített protokoll kidolgozásának megvitatása. A rendezvényre szemészeket és a diabeteszes retinopátia klinikai vonatkozásaiban járatos diabetológusokat várnak (kb. 40—50 személyt).
