A Friedenwald szerint számított tonographiás eredmények alapján az elfolyási coefficiens a kóros határán van, az elfolyási érték pedig biztosan kórosat mutat. A beteg klinikai felvételt nyert, melynek alkalmával a glaukoma simplex bebizonyosodott.

A McBain szerint kapott értékek jóval magasabbak, ezek végleges értékelése sok klinikai adat alapján megszabott határok ismerete után lesz lehetséges.

összefoglalás

A szem rigiditásának ismerete a glaukoma modern diagnostikájában és kezelésében elengedhetetlen. A rigiditásnak a szemnyomásmérés és a szem folyadékkeringésének meghatározása alkalmával értékbefolyásoló jelentősége van, ezért a helyes diagnosis és kezelés szempontjából a differenciáltonometria módszerével meg kell határozni. Fontos tudni, hogy physiologiás és kóros körülmények a rigiditás értékét befolyásolhatják. A differenciáltonometria útján kapott értékek bizonyos mértékben különböznek attól függően, hogy a számításnál felhasznált nyomásértékeket milyen módon nyertük. 200 ép szemen végzett rigiditás meghatározás alapján megállapítható, hogy lényegesen alacsonyabb rigiditást kapunk akkor, ha az eredeti Friedenwald-féle féllogarithmicus egyenlet helyett McBain exponenciális formulája alapján végezzük a számításokat. Ezen új átlag rigiditás mellett új határokat kell megszabni a normális és kóros tonographiás eredmények számára is.
