After reviewing the problem of the diffuse familial chorioretinal atrophies in general, two cases are described of this type, complicated by calcifying cataract and regarded by the author as atrophia gyrata chorioideae et retinae. — It is assumed that the cataract formation and the calcification, respectively, are caused besides the local metabolic and circulatory disturbances by embryonic demage of the crystalline lens too. — Author supposes that these cases belong to the neuro-ophthalmic syndromes. J. Sebestyén: Über die diffusen familiären chorioretinalen Atrophien. Nach einer allgemeine Beschreibung der familiären chorioretinalen Atrophien, berichtet Verf. über 2 Fälle, die in diese Krankheitsgruppe gehören, durch kalzifizierte Katarakte kompliziert und als Atrophia chorioideae et retinae diagnostiziert wurden. Als Urache der Kataraktbildung bezw. der Verkalkung werden lokale Störungen des Stoffwechsels und des Kreislaufs und ausserdem eine embryonale Linsenschädigung in Betracht gezogen. Verf. ist der Anscht, dass neuroophtalmische Syndrome vorliegen. 68
