2022 / 5. szám - TANULMÁNYOK - Balogh Ádám Tibor: Epizódok az Osztrák–Magyar Monarchia és Brazília kereskedelmi kapcsolatainak történetéből
BALOGH ÁDÁM TIBOR to be followed by a number of consulates all over the South American continent. From Brasil, exotic raw materials (coffee, cocoa, rubber, tobacco etc.) arrived through Trieste and later Fiume, and while the Monarchy exported its own industrial products (flour, timber, wine, paper, glass, porcelain etc.) to the South American country. Major Austrian and Hungarian naval companies (such as the Lloyd and the Adria) ran regular steam lines between the two states. The dynamically developing mutual commercial relations were throughout deeply influenced by the trends enfolding both in world commerce and at the regional level. During World War I sea commerce came to a halt, as the two states waged war on opposite sides. The dissolution of the Monarchy, moreover, put a definitive end to the decades-long commercial relations. 1057
